Texting Terms

The short version

The program

Hey, Thinking of You sends subscribers one short, positive text message a day at the time they choose, in the vibe and language they choose. On your birthday, if you shared it, that day's text is a birthday message. We also send a one-time confirmation text when you sign up, and we reply when you text us a command like a new time or HELP.

Signing up and consent

How often

Message frequency: 1 message per day, plus a reply each time you text us a command. You can pause anytime by texting PAUSE.

Cost

The service is free. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. Ask your carrier if you're not sure.

Stopping and help

Carriers

Texts work on major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery can depend on your phone, signal and carrier.

Not professional help

Our texts are friendly encouragement. They aren't medical, mental health or professional advice, and they aren't monitored for emergencies. If you're in crisis or thinking about hurting yourself, call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, in the US) or call 911.

Posting messages and notes

Send one to a friend

When you use "Send one to a friend," the message goes from your phone, not ours. Please only send it to people who'd be happy to get it. We never text your friends unless they sign up themselves.

Spots and the waitlist

Texts cost us real money, so we only open as many spots as donations can cover. When we're full, you can join the waitlist and we'll email you when a spot opens. Spots go first come, first served.

Donations

Donations are voluntary gifts to help keep the service running. They go straight to texting and hosting costs. Hey, Thinking of You is not a registered charity, so donations aren't tax-deductible, and they can't be refunded. Donating never affects whether you can sign up.
