The short version
- We collect only what it takes to send you one kind text a day.
- We never sell your info, and we never share your phone number for anyone's marketing.
- Text STOP anytime to stop the texts, or tap Delete my info on the site to erase your sign-up.
Who we are
Hey, Thinking of You is a free, donation-supported text service started by Cesar. It sends subscribers one short, positive text a day. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Hey, Thinking of You. Questions? Email hello@heythinkingofyou.com.
What we collect
- When you sign up: your email address (it's how you log in), first name, US mobile number, the time and time zone you want your text, your vibe, your language, and your birthday (month and day only) if you choose to share it.
- About your number: whether it's a mobile, landline or internet phone line, from a carrier lookup when you sign up, and whether you replied YES to confirm it.
- What you text us: replies like YES, STOP, a new time, or a vibe change.
- What you post: messages you suggest for the texts, and notes with the display name you pick.
- Donation reports: if you tell us you donated, the amount, the app you used, and a name if you add one. We never see your card or bank details. Payments happen inside Venmo, Cash App, PayPal or Zelle.
- Waitlist: your email address and language, if you join the waitlist.
- Technical basics: a login session saved in your browser so you stay signed in, and standard server logs (like IP address and time) kept by our hosting providers for security. We don't use advertising trackers or sell analytics.
How we use it
- To send your daily text at the time, vibe and language you picked, and a birthday text if you shared your birthday.
- To confirm your number is real and yours, send login codes, and answer the texts you send us.
- To review posts before they appear, keep out spam and fake sign-ups, and protect the service.
- To email you when a spot opens, if you're on the waitlist.
- To show the public numbers on the site, like the subscriber count and the donation meter. These never identify you.
Your phone number stays with us
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the aggregators and providers that deliver the text messages.
Who helps us run the service
We use a few service providers. They only handle your info to do their job for us:

We may also share info if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
What's public
Messages and notes you post become public on the site once they pass review, along with the display name you chose. Approved messages may also be sent as daily texts. Your email, phone number and other sign-up details are never public.
How long we keep it
- Your sign-up stays until you delete it or ask us to.
- If we texted you to confirm your number and you never replied YES, we delete that sign-up after 7 days.
- Texting STOP stops all texts right away. We keep a record that you opted out so we never text you by mistake.
- Posts stay up until you ask us to remove them.
Your choices
- Stop texts: text STOP. Text START to come back.
- Change things: sign in on the site, or text a time, a vibe, or ESPAÑOL/ENGLISH.
- Delete your sign-up: sign in and tap Delete my info.
- Delete everything (your login and your posts too), or get a copy of your info: email hello@heythinkingofyou.com and we'll take care of it within 30 days.
Kids
The service is for people 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect info from children under 13. If you think a child signed up, email us and we'll delete it.
Keeping it safe
Data is stored with Supabase and protected by access rules: each person can only see their own sign-up, and phone numbers are visible only to us. No system is perfect, but we work to keep your info safe and collect as little as we can.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is big, we'll tell subscribers by email or text first.
